A Step Toward International Experience and Innovation: Results of the Official Visit to the Republic of Korea
From September 2 to 10, 2024, a student delegation led by Shokhista Abdkhalilovna Islomova successfully carried out an official visit to the Republic of Korea. The main purpose of the visit was to exchange international experience, become acquainted with advanced achievements in the fields of medicine and education, and strengthen mutual cooperation.
Advanced Experience in Medicine and Education
During the visit, the delegation became familiar with the activities of The Catholic University of Korea and its clinical base — Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. As part of the program, a tour of the “Omnibus Park” complex, official meetings, a hospital tour, and observation of robotic surgical procedures were organized.
Students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern medical technologies, digital management systems, and innovative approaches. This contributed to the development of their practical skills and clinical thinking.
The delegation also visited the National Library of Korea, where they explored scientific information resources, electronic databases, and the research support system.
Integration of Digital Technologies and Medicine
As part of the technological meetings, a visit was made to the office of Amazon Web Services (AWS), where issues related to cloud technologies, digital infrastructure, and prospects for the use of information technologies in healthcare were discussed.
In addition, students visited Asan Medical Center, where they received detailed information about modern diagnostic and treatment methods, clinical management systems, and workflows organized in accordance with international standards.
Cultural and Educational Program
As part of the cultural program, the delegation visited such landmarks as N Seoul Tower, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Lotte World Tower, and Ttukseom Hangang Park. These visits contributed to broadening the students’ cultural outlook.
Private Clinics and Practical Experience
In order to gain practical medical experience, visits were organized to FIRST Plastic Surgery, POINT Plastic Surgery, and ROEN Gynecology Clinic (Gangnam, Seolleung branch). Participants received information about modern methods in plastic surgery and gynecology, service culture, and innovative approaches.
The delegation also took part in cultural and practical activities, including a visit to the Everland amusement park and a pizza-making master class at Papa John’s.
Results of the Visit
On September 10, 2024, the delegation returned to Tashkent via the city of Incheon.
The official visit contributed to enriching the students’ international experience, strengthening their scientific and practical knowledge, and establishing sustainable partnerships with foreign colleagues.
This visit became an important step in enhancing the international reputation of Tashkent State Medical University, developing students’ professional potential, and expanding prospects for further cooperation.
